Jailbreak IOS 5.0.1 Time for a fresh upgrade on the SLOOOW 4.3.1

Comments Off

After a dreadfully slooooooow year at 4.3.1 which has seemed to get slower everyday, I am finally biting the bullet and going to 5.0.1 RedSnOw links and iClariefied.com for my b-structions, please keep me brick free! I am also checking Redmond Pie instructions.

I forgot to tell if I was new or old last time – New week 3/2011, early weeks of 2009 is old…

11:08pm in between headlines and Taylor Swift interview on Leno, here I go…worst case scenario, hopefully, no jailbreak just IOS 5.0.1…best case, well you know.  11:28 ish the restore process started after IOS 5.0.1 installed.  Yet to start the jailbreak. 1201am still putting all the garbage I had on my phone back on it, before I can run the jailbreak.  Bedtime Zzzzzz, I will see what we get tomorrow.

Retrieving Data from your iPhone backup files

Comments Off

So I communicate with my clients now via text as I am sure many people do however, unlike my CRM with email, call logs, etc that is not really attached anywhere to my client record.  I thought it might be appropriate to put some of that data into my CRM, but first of all I need to get it from my iphone backup.  Here we go…

C:\Users\insert your user name here\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\alongNumberMatchesYourPhone\3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28

fyi the above number will be the same

the 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28 should be the actual file name on your computer although the directory name that looks similar will differ the file name should not. Well I copied the file over (duplicate) just in case.  I downloaded MySql lite to use to access it, renamed my copied file to an extension .db3 so it would see it, then I exported it to excel, had to format the date using the following:

you should find the dates are represented as either the number of seconds since 1/1/2001, or 1/1/1970, depending on the position of the date field. In Excel, you could use a formula such as =1/1/2001 + A1/60/60/24 where A1 is your time data. (mine used 1/1/1970 iPhone 3gs)

then I imported it into MSAccess to do some reporting an (wa-la), can’t spell french words in Tejas, it is great as it shows, who, when and the message text.  Good Stuff! Here is my link love thanks for the help!

God is Good, in Control, Loves us very much and Has the best for us…

I know God is in control, so 2011 my dad died 2/2011, mom died 10/2011, mom’s dog died 11/2011, our house was robbed and burned down 12/21/2011, we live in a hotel, we found a great rent house to move to on 1/16/2012 and today we get a call that a kid who lived their chose to end his life at the home, so they will not be renting the house. Please pray for that mom and family and know that God has an incredible plan for us, glad I don’t have to be in control! Thank you, I love you Lord!

Missing or Hidden App icons on iPhone…how to get them back!

Comments Off

Okay for the last 2 months plus it has been driving me nuts I thought my iPhone was actually missing app icons, they show up in itunes I can search and find them, but I could not get the icons to show up anywhere on my home screen or folders.  I thought it was an error and from some bad install of a program from cydia, well not it’s not.  After deleting them, losing my data and reinstall them, same problem => today I found the simple solution, click here to get it only $.99 JUST KIDDING!

If your phone is jailbroken it is probably as simple as this:

Go to sbsettings>more>hide apps and make sure it’s not hidden

there fixed, wasn’t that easy! Welcome back soundhound and aero weather!

Better Alive than Dead, you still have hope at least

Ecclesiastes 9

V4Anyone who is among the living has hope – even a dog is better off than a dead lion!  V5 for the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing;  they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.   V7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful hear, for God has already approved what you do.

An encouragement.

V12 no one knows when their hour will come, as fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

Syncing your iPod/iPhone to a new iTunes library?

Syncing your iPod/iPhone to a new iTunes library? …a nice step by step story!

I have spent 4 days trying to prep for this and chickening out 3 different times, glad I read this even though I had done the steps I left out, one the most important one!

copy the backup to the new computer 1st

without this it would have been a disaster or at least added several more painful hours of app rearranging and contact hassles. Fortunately I copied it first and life seems to be good and now I get the other 300+ songs I was missing on my phone back, finally after 9 months.

It was like having a baby, huh?! I’m not a woman so I can say that :) so far so good, only spent 4 hrs tonight, WOW!  and its 232am did I mention that I have stuff to do tomorrow and needed a good night’s rest?!

I Love You Mom!

I sit here this morning reminiscing with my mom, talking about business affairs and life, the things we think are undone or un-discussed, yet they all worked out and are fine. As we sit I remarked as the CD we had playing in the background played the song “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” came on which until now I never knew the name I don’t think, but it reminded me of Davey and Goliath the claymation show that used to come on Sunday mornings when I was a kid. It was such an impressionable show a show that I have a fond memory of today, that taught the ‘good life lessons’, that we need to know.

She said wow what a change from when you were a kid, “it goes so fast”, well it seems so fast and the difference is so vast, but 30 years is the pace at which it has gone. A lot of living has happened in that time. Good times, bad times, lean times and sad times all the time and yet a bright future a future with promise and a time to pass.

My mom recognizes as do I the future for her is so short and there seems so much undone, yet the days of shopping together, Christmas and Halloween decorations and all our memories remain. I have such a love and honor for my father, but to a man a dad is so different a love than the love of a mother. A mother is the one who is there, there when you’re sick, there for your school lunch, there for your hurt knee, I love you mom and know that you are there, have been there and one day I will meet you THERE. I am not ready for you to leave yet, I know you know I love you and I know you love me like the greatest child, son, father, businessman and person that ever lived, that no matter my faults, failures and faux pas you still loved me and thought I was the best.

Thank you mom for being my mom, for the baggage I gained, for the understanding you gave, for the model of living for Christ and having the passion to teach others about Christ, mom you have done well! Mom I Love you!
