Note: 2 hours give or take to Restore and update and that is with only about 2/3 of my music loaded, still lack putting another 2000 songs back on to my phone since I replaced it 3 months ago…1220a now the real fun begins, Lord please let me not brick my phone!

Okay as the butterflies race in my stomach and the taste of onions from the left over sandwich of 4 hours ago lingers I ‘leave my phone plugged in and power it off…’ @1228a yep it has so far taken more time to read the directions, throughly again, do it and blog it than the actual “jailbreaking”…

So with palms sweating I held down the power button, then the home button, then released the power button while holding the home button (come on have you done this, do you hear me…anyone – insert echo, echo here) !

Then the pop “you must have misunderstood, check youtube or google for direction” warning message pops up, I look at my phone and see a trace of a darker black line down the middle of the screen, think oh crap, here comes the loose stool part and then let go, lay my phone down and click next on the box expecting to try again and boom there it is, “jailbreak installing” stuff happening on my phone and wow, nice palm tree pic and 4 or so minutes later while I am still typing this crap my phone appears to be back and jailbroken??? I pushed the home button, things appear to be in order? I got this screen…

Now let’s see…ah yes, hello Cydia you are new to my phone…what can you do for me? Let you know if, how and what is living in my new world. For now it seems that my somewhat nervous stomach may be able to calm and I will see what new apps await me in my new app store…  Thanks Iclarified for making it really easy!

Oh yeah and most importanly, thank you LORD for my jailbroken, non-brick Idevice! Good Night and Good luck!

Another comment to put my mind at ease…Un-Jailbreaking although I haven’t tried it and don’t plan to…but it is an option and really that’s what it is about right?! Options…Below is excerpt from the thread on Un-Jailbreak your iPhone

In order to ‘Vanilla’ / unJailbreak an iPhone you must Restore it in iTunes then, perform an “Erase All Content and Settings” then, setup as ‘New iPhone’ in iTunes.
Residual jailbreak files will be visible to the Genius Bar if you ONLY ‘Restore.’
Restore it to factory setting then sync it with your computer and all apps will come back.

To Restore iPhone using the latest version of iTunes.
    • Connect iPhone.
    • When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab.

To Erase All Content and Settings:
    • On iPhone, Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings
Note: This will delete all media and data. All settings will be reset as well.
