What to do if you get the message ‘Can’t creat file: voice-message.wav. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder.’
Microsoft stores all the files you open with the same name in the temporary directory and it will take up 100 of the same name, then it won’t let you open or view the files. So if you are like me and get your voicemails via email this starts to happen when you click to open a file.
Go delete all the files out of your temp directory and you are good. If you have heart ache doing that then move them some place else, but until you do one or the other you are stuck.
The location of your temp files should be something like below if you are using Vista with YOURNAME being whatever user name you are using. Some of these are hidden files so keep that in mind you will need to change folder options to view hidden files.
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\OLK2397
if you are using XP then it is something like below, if you are using something else…good luck sorry.
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data…
