The great Conspiracy – Really?!

Well I am not really a conspiracy theorist, really I am not, but recently I have found somethings to be more and more troubling.  As the current election brought heated exchanges and the mantra of people applauding as they watched there freedoms be taken it cause one to really stop and think.

I saw a commercial for the new On Star where they can not only blink your lights to let the pursuing officer know it is the right vehicle, but they can kill the engine and stop it dead in its tracks.  Now from a consumer level of stopping a stolen vehicle or helping you in a crisis or unlocking your doors that seems really convenient, but…take a step back and think about it.

They know where you are, what you are doing, can listen and even control to a point when you stop and go.  That power in the wrong hands, well!  As they say power corrupts.

The newest thing I saw today in an article about the Smart Grid Investment Grants through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 that President Obama signed into law Yesterday kinda adds to that.  The bill allows for grants to utilities to promote installation if smart meters and encourage customer systems that will allow for communication between utilities and consumers. Yeah you got it entice customers to install components that will work with the grid (translated talk and send information), such as smart meters, smart thermostats, appliances, automated substations, plug-in hybrid vehicles and renewable energy sources.

It will be great and energy efficient and put anyone who can access the system directly in your house.  How about that.  Soon it will be mandatory on all new construction.

You decide for yourself http://www.energy.gov/7282.htm

Obligatory Will Rogers quotes

Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save.

There are 3 kinds of people the one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces.
