It recently dawned on me, while I was meditating – also known as working in the yard. I have serveral friends who have gone through or are going through a divorce and it is much like selling a house. You spend a lot of time and money trying to make it look good so others will like it, right when you are going to get rid of it.
Hope this doesn’t apply to your life, but what a painful reality of what causes us to care about how nice and picked up the house is or take some (not even a lot) of pride in our appearance that maybe not only the neighbors, but the departing spouse would have liked!
